Common Workplace Injuries We Can Address
Any injury you sustain on the job is a workplace injury. That said, certain types of injuries are more common in the workplace than others. There are two ways you can injure yourself at work:
Acute Injuries
These injuries happen due to a sudden accident or other trauma, such as a slip and fall. Concussions, bone fractures, and severe soft tissue injuries (like sprains or strains) all fall into this category.
Overuse Injuries
These injuries develop gradually over time due to repetitive movements or awkward posture. If left unaddressed, they can cause pain and mobility restriction and put you at a higher risk of an acute injury.
It’s important to remember that workplace injuries don’t just happen in construction work or other types of manual labor. People who work in retail or similar positions (such as hairstylists or baristas) are at a particularly high risk for overuse injuries.
